                     Savannah is a senior undergraduate member of the Ngo Lab. Her project currently revolves around the enzymatic investigation of the inhibitory effect of novel antibacterial drug candidates on dihydrofolate reductase. 

About her in her own words:

My family will and always be the most important thing in my life.

I listen to various artist like Harry Styles, Stray Kids, Giveon, and more. I’m blessed to have seen multiple artists live as I love attending their concerts. When I have free time I enjoy watching Stray Kids Code on YouTube and Anime on multiple platforms. My favorites are Attack on Titan, Bleach, and Your Lie in April.

Undergraduate Junior

Meah is a junior undergraduate member of the Ngo Lab. Her project currently revolves around the molecular diagnosis of hypercortisolism (Cushing's Syndrome).

About her in her own words:

My name is Meah Lewis, and I am a Junior at Texas Wesleyan University with a major in Biochemistry. I enjoy reading and swimming during my downtime from classes. After graduation, I plan to go to graduate school for chemistry and become a medical research scientist.

Undergraduate Junior

Dianna is a junior undergraduate member of the Ngo Lab. Her project currently revolves around the quantitative distance determination of a discharged firearm from its target. 

About her in her own words:

My name is Dianna Torres, I’m a Junior Biochemistry major, and I transferred from TCC after completing my associate’s degree in science. I enjoy watching anime, crafting jewelry, and occasionally playing the cello. Once I complete my bachelor's degree, I plan to either work the forensics field or go to graduate school for chemistry.  "

Undergraduate Sophmore

Ethan is a sophomore undergraduate member of the Ngo Lab. His project currently revolves around the molecular cloning of short tandem repeats. 

About him in his own words:

I am currently a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry. I began my undergraduate studies at Texas Wesleyan University in the Fall of 2024. After my first year, through a recommendation, I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Ngo and was fortunate to be mentored by him in the field of Forensic Science. Presently, I am focusing on developing my skills in PCR and DNA extraction, with the goal of enhancing accuracy and advancing methods in the analysis of biological traces.

Graduated Spring of 2024

Currently a  QC Analyst I/ QA FWM Chemist at Alcon Laboratories and a graduate student at Oklahoma State University. 

About her in her own words:

I graduated with a degree in Biochemistry in spring 2024 and am currently working in a chemistry lab at Alcon. I attend graduate school at Oklahoma State University, but when I have free time, I like to catch up with friends and go to the gym.

Graduated Spring of 2022

Currently a graduate student in Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine.

About her in her own words:

I joined the Pelphrey lab in 2021 and graduated with my biology degree in 2022. Having just met Dr. Ngo, I continued doing research in both the Pelphrey and Ngo labs until I began graduate school at University of California, Irvine in 2024. In my free time, I enjoy building Lego sets, being with friends, and exploring new coffee shops.
